I spent (a second) 5 hours here and only made it through about half of what they have to offer. From the web page: With displays ranging from the elegant aeronautic designs of two unknown bike mechanics – Orville and Wilbur Wright – to an actual Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird that can fly at speeds of over 2,000 miles per hour – the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum located in McMinnville, Oregon, has a little something for everyone.
I got an oppertunity to use the new speedlite I got for Christmas. Found a spider (in spite of close examining, I could not find a red hourglass on this one) in the bathroom. The EF 70-200L II IS focuses too far away by default, but with a little encouragement from a full stack of Kenko extension tubes, it brought the focus distance down to about 12" (and zoomed to 200mm).
NOTE: This is not a review of a product. Its just some notes and/or comments I have after using it. A few months ago, I acquired a Canon 1D X. I’ve used the “pro series” bodies for a number of years previously, including both the 1Ds and 1Ds Mark II. My reasons for upgrading were 2, first, ISO, and second, framerate. The majority of the features for the 1Ds and Mark II were quite sufficient for what I did.

I was just gifted a really nice second hand printer (horray for hand-me-downs!). A Canon iPF 5000. Its not new, but still a very nice printer. Luminous Landscape has a review here.

We went to the Oregon Zoo in the Portland west hills tonight. Each year they put on a Christmas light show that is both Christmas and zoo themed. Originally, I went just for the train, but there were a lots of neat other light arrangements to see. Weather was colder than I was expecting (it was in the 30’s). Seems I’ve softened up while living in CA. Need more than a light jacket for an evening out in Dec.
