Our fifth day we took bus to the Damnoen Saduak floating market in Ratchaburi, Thailand. This is one of the most famous floating markets, and a major tourist destination.
The floating market at Damnoen Saduak is the traditional way of selling fruits, vegetables, etc from a small boat. Thai style canoes filled with colorful, succulent fruits, vegetables, sweets and meats, gently ply their way through the canal. The excellent quality soil beside the canal is very fertile and suitable for growing many kinds of fruits and vegetables and the area is famous for Malacca grape, Chinese grapefruit, mangoes, bananas, and coconut.
On our third day in Bangkok, Thailand, we spent the day recovering from travelling and then getting up at 4am. We decided to take the day off, catch a nap, and then do a diner cruise on the Chao Phraya River.
They offered quite the assortment of food and drink (which was all very tasty), some classic Thai dancing around the dinner tables, and of course, some rather nice night views of various temples and other buildings.
The first time was so amazing we had to do it again. It was worth getting up at 4am. Back to Tiger Temple by 7am.

On the second day in Bangkok, we got up around 4am so we could get to the Tiger Temple by 7am. We spent the day playing with tigers, elephants, and wild monkeys. The tigers were somewhere between wild and tame and somewhat allowed to run around and do tiger things. We spent about an hour and a half in each of three groups: (bottle) feeding 2-6mo old cubs, feeding, bathing, and exercising 6-9mo old cubs, and watching adults get exercised.
Our first day in Bangkok, Thailand. We visited Golden Mountain Temple, and the The Grand Palace (among others).
