An island with a view

Singapore (home to Singapore Sling, and the famous Raffles Hotel) has a nice “hop on, hop off” tour. I like these because they provide a certain amount of “self pacing” to the exploring, while at the same time, showing you numerous points of interest in an easy to digest fashion. One of the first “hop off” ponts was the Singapore Flyer, which is a 165m Ferris Wheel, and the tallest in the world. After the tours, we went back to the hotel, and on down to the beach. It was my first trip to the beach, we were staying out on South side of Sentosa Island, on Siloso beach, which seemed like one of the few places I couldn’t get a view of from the Singapore Flyer. The beach was nice, sand, and warm water. It also provided a good view of all the ships waiting for their turn to come in to the harbor. When night came and all the ship lights could be seen a little more clearly, it was like looking at a town, out in the middle of the water. Singapore is the second busiest port in the world.
